Alexander Antoine Lasseigne Sr., born 10 May 1922 in Galliano, Lafourche Parish, La., resident of Galliano, died at 5:07 am Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007.

Mass was held Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery

He is survived by his wife, Florence Marie Lefort, three sons, Alexander Antoine Lasseigne Jr., Christopher Antoine Lasseigne and Jody Antoine Lasseigne, six brothers, Nolan Joseph Lasseigne Sr., Wilbert Joseph Lasseigne, Ivy Joseph Lasseigne, Arsen Joseph Lasseigne Jr., Norby Anthony Lasseigne and John 'Johnny' Lasseigne Sr., one sister, Myrna Josephine Lasseigne Blanchard; and five grandchildren, Aimee Lasseigne, Alexander Antoine Lasseigne III, Christy Gerard Lasseigne, Eriah Antoine Lasseigne and Jazzie Gerald Lasseigne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arsen Albert Lasseigne Sr. and Sisca Seritta Ledet Lasseigne; two sisters, Augustine Lasseigne Martin and Gloria Lasseigne; and one grandchild.

He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and a U.S. World War II Army veteran.  He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church
