William ‘Sully’ Sullivan
- died Monday at his Thibodaux home surrounded by friends and family; age 52 and died after a two-year battle with esophageal cancer

- spent much of his childhood in Assumption Parish, and moved to Thibodaux for high school; upon his release from military service in the 1970s, went to work as a car salesman and later became employed by a promotional products company
- with his wife, built a multi-million-dollar workplace-safety-promotion company based in downtown Thibodaux; founded A.I.M. Inc., short for Always in Mind, at their home in the Bayou Country Club in 1986; the company grew into a two-site operation that today employs around three dozen people and markets its products and programs to a range of national and international companies, including ExxonMobil and Bristol-Myers Squibb
- proud of his company’s own high safety ranking. In 2004, A.I.M. was designated a STAR site within the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program, the first promotional-products distributor in the nation to achieve that status
- when he wasn’t working, loved to spend time with his family at his camp on Grand Isle; often made trips to the island with the Sullivans in which the purpose was ostensibly to fish, but would never fish, would just take people out on his boat, drink wine and listen to music the whole time
- their camp was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and were in the process of building a new one, where Sully Sullivan hoped to spend the remainder of his chemotherapy treatments taking long walks on the beach and otherwise enjoying island life; he never got to see it finished
