• wonderful personality and was a joy to be around; great sense of humor and was always a good sport when involved in a practical joke; loved ceramics, making hand-made Christmas ornaments, fishing and going to the casino; hand-made Christmas ornaments and ceramics will be treasured by family members; she had a "green thumb"; owned her own boat and motor and could still row a skiff; famous for her hot tamales, crawfish bisque, stuffed crabs and rabbit spaghetti; remembered for her crab picking ability for everyone knew that if they sat by Irene she would hand them a prepared crab to be easily picked clean
• lived her life in a way that will always make her children proud; wonderful provider and did her best to make sure that her family was well taken care of. Irene showed an incredible amount of strength and courage in raising her three daughters after tragically losing her husband and son in 1957
