• in 1956, she returned to Louisiana to teach at Nicholls, where she was a faculty advisor for the Newman Club, and she lived in Thibodaux for 20 years; following her retirement in 1975, she moved to Houma, where she lived for another 25 years and was an active member at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church
• substitute teacher in Terrebonne Parish and taught for two years at Vermillion Catholic High School in Abbeville, ending her career at the age of 80
