NOTES FOR AARON C. HICKMAN

Census 1850, 1812 War Record, Aaron's Will, Hickman/Halso Book Served 3 months as Pvt. in War of 1812 in Illinois Militia in Indiana Territory. His services was rendered guarding the Frontier against the Indians and building forts. He serve in the Spring of 1813 in the place of Jim Gard. He was described as being 5' 7" tall, with fair complexion, blue eyes, black hair and weighting 150 lb. He was Private in the Upson Sentinels, Company A. 46th Georgia Regiment at 76 years of age. Aaron C. Hickman married Delilah Duke on 26 December 1819 in Jasper County, Georgia. They had 13 children 9 boys and 4 girls. They lived most of their married life in Thomaston Georgia. They were hard shell Baptist, belonging to Good Hope Primitive Baptist and Fellowship Baptist. Aaron died 26 December 1863 and Delilah died 29 February 1880.

NOTES FOR DELILAH DUKE

Hickman/Halso book, Bible records of Moses P. Hickman, Obituary Lived to be 80 years old and died in Netuma, Ga. It is known that she was the daughter of Stephen Duke and we believe her mother was Sarah Webb. She died on the morning of February 9, 1880 at her home in Upson county, Georgia. She was a member of Baptist churches for 48 years, she was on the rolls of Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist. She was the mother of thirteen children and had seen them all but one, who died in infancy, grow to mature manhood and womanhood and settled in life.

NOTES FOR ANDREW JACKSON HICKMAN

Hickman/Halso Book, Census records, Civil War records. Married Mary Frances Barker 17 Feb 1859. In 1850 Census he was Living on a farm in sumter County Ga, working as a Overseer, close to Joseph M. Hickman's farm. In the 1860 Census He lived in Talladega, Alabama for awhile, near Copeland C. Hickman, Aaron's brother working as a Wagon Maker. Enter the Civil War in Ga. as a Private on the 23 Dec. 1863, wounded at Bentonville, N.C. on Mar 21 1865. Paroled at Augusta, Ga. on 27 May 1865. Lived in Polk Co. Ga. after the War. Died 16 Oct 1876.
