Subject: Boyer research
Your site is very good and I enjoyed reading your genealogy.  I did not find what I was
looking for, *frown*.  I have a Filicitie Boyer b. 1807 in MO.  Have you come across
any info about her in your research?  Filicitie's ancestry was at least 1/2 Sac & Fox.
She married a Foy who was in MO 1817 Calloway Co.  These Foy's had a connection
with the Roy brothers of the same county & year.  If you have any leads, please write
back.

Brian, this book was published in 1971 by "Meet Your Ancestors" 1011 Windsor Drive,
Hattiesburg,  MS printed by the University of Southern Mississippi Duplicating Center.
My local public library has 1 copy and it is about an inch thick.  It has some great research.
I have tried to find a phone number for the above press but no listing. The authors of the book
are Lloyd Franklin Posey and Betty Sue Drake Posey. Let me know if you can find a copy
for purchase.  By the way I am trying to establish my connection to Hezekiah Posey b 1751,

Thanks for any info you can find.

Bergeron family
I found your web site while looking into a trip we are planning to Chaumont, France where my
husband spent a year in 1952. Among the sites found was yours which said 'Bergeron family'.
My grandmother's maiden name was Adele Bergeron (Good Hope, La) so I checked out your
web site. I found some Duhes (my aunt is named Helen Duhe) and some Aymes (my
grandfather was Gaston J. Ayme) so it was really interesting. I had no idea about the genealogy
of these people. While I didn't exactly find my relatives (maybe I don't know how to navigate).
I definitely found the families and I now think some of my ancestors may be from near Chaumont,
which will make our trip so much more fun. Thanks for a very interesting web site. I think it's very
well done. Need more recipes though (your smothered eggplant is the same my grandmother
used to make, which is one of my favorites. Do you have a recipe for fig preserves?

Someone has said it before, but it's worth repeating...Wow!  I am a direct descendant of

the father of Peter Patrick McCormack who married Jane Caroline Donnell.  I have
just started transcribing my Grandmother's family notes into FamilyTree software, but
I have some answers to your McCormack questions.  If you are interested in the information
I have, please let me know.  I would be glad to share.  FYI, grandmother mentioned in her
notes that Peter Patrick was of Scots decent, but was born in Dublin, Ireland before coming
to the United States.  He fought in the Revolutionary War, and was present at the surrender
of Lord Cornwallis.  I have not found anything in her records to support that, but I've just
started!  I also have two photos, Oscar Hart Donnell and Izella Jarvis, his wife.  I believe
them to be their wedding photos.  I will have to find a scanner if you want copies.
Let me know!  Thank you so much for all of your work and effort.

Tracing Fraziers from TX back to TN back to NC
I (think) my g...grandfather is John Frazier (reportedly born about 1851, came from TN
but folks came from NC), I made the connection to Howell and Sarah Frazier listed in
the 1860 census in Cheatham County, TN,  based on their birth in NC and John being
about the right age (9) with an older sister Nancy.
Shirley Harman's listing on http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:1587458&id=I1016
show Howell's father and mother to be John & Nancy (same TN census) from Granville County, NC.
Name: John FRAZIER Sex: M Birth: abt. 1774 in NC
Note: Source:
(1) "Abstracts of Granville County, NC" Book 8, 1816-1821, page 124

Note:
(1) Left Granville Co, NC for Tennessee 19 October 1819 at age 45
(2) Has brother named "Howell"
Your site shows a (36) John Frazier (no birthdate) with a brother Howell born to
(15) Jeremiah Frazier, Sr. in Granville County, NC.  I think this is the same John Frazier
in the TN census (1840 and on).  There doesn't seem to be descendants listed for your
(36) John Frazier.   What do you think?  Have we made the connection?

I have found incorrect information on your webpage (http://www.vienici.com/tafel/tafel19.html).
I thought that you would be interested in knowing the correct information on Valeran de Milly.
He was born Valeran (Waleran, Galeran) de Meulan. Born abt 1285. He was Seigneur (Lord)
of Neufbourg, de la Queue and Milly-la-Foret. He only obtained the titles for Milly-la-Foret by
marrying Jeanne de Bouville, Dame de Milly-la-Foret. The de Meulan family are a branch of
the de Beaumont family which has a very ancient lineage.
Jeannes' parents were:
Jean IV de Bouville, Seigneur de Mily-la-Foret and Marguerite de Beaumetz (Baumes),
Dame de Mirebeau.
Jean IV de Bouville
was the son of:
Hugues II de Bouville, Seigneur de Milly-la-Foret and Marie de Chambly (his 2nd wife).
Hugues II was first married to NN... de Milly, Dame de Milly-la-Foret. They had no children.
Hugues received the title of Seigneur de Milly because there was no male heir to the Milly-la-Foret
branch. He received this title in 1287.
This unnamed de Milly was the daughter of Geoffrey II de Milly. He was the son of
Guillaume III de Milly. He was the son of Guillaume II de Milly. He was the son of
Guillaume I de Milly. He was the son of Thierry de Milly. He was the son of
Adam de Milly (1st Seigneur de Milly-la-Foret) and Elisabeth de Sens.
Elisabeth de Sens was the daughter of Daimbert de Sens. He was the son of Mainard de Sens.
He was the son of Fromont II de Sens. He was the son of Renaud de Sens. He was the son of
Fromond I de Sens. He was the son of Garnier de Sens, Count of Troyes and Theuteberge d'Arles.
Theuteberge d'Arles was the daughter of Theobald d'Arles and Bertha, princess of Germany.
Bertha was the daughter of Lothaire II de Aquitaine, King of France and Holy Roman Emperor.
Lothaire II was the son of Lothaire I de Aquitaine, King of France, Holy Roman Emperor.
Lothaire I was the son of Louis I de Aquitaine, King of France and Holy Roman Emperor. Louis I
was the son of Charlemagne, King of France and Holy Roman Emperor.
I have many lines that trace backwards from Emperor Charlemagne. If you would like to know more info
I will be happy to give it to you.  Kind regards,  Andrew J. Millie

Subject: No. 1 Chamberlin-Hickman
Greetings, David!!  Thanks to our faithful co-researcher and recorder, Brian.
The only research I have done since last communicating with Brian has been on trying
to find out the maiden name of Mary () Westcott Hickman, mother of the Fearless Four
who served in the Rev. from NC. No results except to see that there were a lot of Westcotts
on the VA side of the Eastern Shore, one of whom, with wife perhaps?, migrated up-bay to
Cecil Co. MD. Found nothing specific.  Also tried to determine key wife of my Rev. Sol.
William Hickman
(no luck yet but think it could be the widow he left rather than a first wife).
Would be interested to hear how you descend.
Ancestor Joseph Hickman in Chester Co. was dismissed from fellowship because he refused
to drop charges against two Mendenhalls and another for assaulting him in his own house.
(Not supposed to go to court. That's a no-no.)

Later email 1 August 2002
Subject: No. 2 Chamberlin-Hickman
No. 2: I have long suspected a relationship between the Mendenhalls and Hickman but
nothing specific. A later female in line of Benj. Hickman married a Mendenhall. (From
memory: think granddaughter.)
I found a record showing that Elizabeth's first marriage was to Robt. Chamberlin (birth of
their son I think...my files are scattered). As Brian may have told you, there is a record in
Wiltshire of the birth of Francis Hickman to Simon Hickman. That's as far back as
I have been able to go on that.
I had no luck on Elizabeth Ch. Hickman origin. Your news is, indeed, very interesting. I have
printed it out and will study more carefully. My wife and I have been so busy for the last few
years on work as officers of gen. orgs. that I have had little time for research...plus an auto-bio.
My wife is President General, National Huguenot Society, and I am Counselor General for Sons
and Daughters of the Pilgrims and for the Order of Americans of Armorial Ancestry. We both ran
into BIG problems. I have done almost as much legal work as I did when I was in the pract. of law.
And no pay, of course.
My wife is descended from a William Clark of old Henrico Co. (south of the R. in what is now
Chesterfield) through a son and grandson named either Allison, Ellyson, or similar renditions.
Are you a VA Clarke?? We have loads of VA ancestors, others from MD and I have a couple
from CT. Went south of course or I would not have been born in LA.
Congratulations on your additions to Hickman-Chamberlin backgrounds. VERY interesting! Let
me hear from you. JDOB
Later email 1 August 2002
Subject: Mendenhalls
David, excuse my hasty reading and assuming you were a Hickman descendant. I see
yours in Mendenhall in that group. The wife of one of Neoma's (my wife) Huguenots is
a Mendenhall desc., hers orig. in Chester Co., PA but I am not sure just how. She wants
to join Descendants of Early Quakers of which I am an officer and it looks like she would be
eligible if she is of your immigrant ancestor's line.
I don't see how there is any doubt that Elizabeth Hickman really was Elizabeth Stroud
Chamberlin Hickman. Grandfather Benj. Stroud calls her Elizabeth Chamberlin and
her father calls her Elizabeth Hickman when she was surnamed Hickman. I would pay no
attention to the other assumptions about her surname. People fill in things based on little but
conjecture all the time as IGI shows time and time again.
I subscribe to Ancestry.com but have not been able to get much out of it for England due,
probably, to my lack of expertise. Will try to remedy that when I have time. Thanks again
and let me hear from you. JDOB

HICKMAN connection
I am a researcher into the Mendenhall (Mildenhall) family, which has Quaker origins at
Lamborne Woodlands Quaker Meetings in 1660s. The family lived at Ramsbury, Wiltshire.
Thomas (c.1630-82) Mildenhall's wife Joan was daughter of Anthony Stroud and
Margery Barley of Baydon, Wiltshire.  I am descended from Thos & Joan's eldest son
Thomas Mildenhall.  Margery's father Benjamin's will of 1662 names "grandaughters
Joan Minall
and Elizabeth Chamberlin" which I assume are sisters as they are named
together in one bequest. Anthony and Margery's wills of 1667 and 1678 both name daughter
Elizabeth Hickman.
Can you see where I am going? I believe Elizabeth Hickman was Elizabeth Stroud.
Thomas and Joan's sons John and Benjamin (now called Mendenhall) came to U.S.
1683 and settled in Chester Co., PA
Problems with this hypothesis:
Some researchers give Elizabeth the surname Woolston - where does this originate?
Some also give her the surname Chamberlain and parents Thomas and Margaret which
cannot be correct if she was widow of Robert Chamberlain before she married Francis
Hickman
.
Elizabeth Hickman's will has a witness John Mendenhall (and a George Strode - Stroud?).
The Hickman births in the Quaker registers of Lambourn are where Thomas and Joan
Mildenhall
's children are and Elizabeth Hicman (sic) witnessed their daughter's wedding
1681.
You are 5th person I have e-mailed in pursuit of this enquiry, I hope we can put together some
answers.  I want to try and find a will for Robert Chamberlain who some sources say
d Feb 1664 ( can you confirm that?) and check the Quaker record of Francis and Eliza. Hickman's
marriage for witnesses. (I have since looked and it is more likely they married in CofE church.)
Do you have any information re: Elizabeth Hickman?

I enjoyed your entire website. My people are tied to Jefferson County, Mo., as are some
of your lines. I especially was interested in your entry (45), where James McCormack
married Susan Windes. Susannah (Susan) came to Missouri with her brother, Enoch
Windes
& sister-in-law, Sarah Dumville, from their birthplace in Society Hill, SC. Susan
& Enoch were the children of Samuel Windes (born circa 1730) and Lydia Edwards.
A history of Peter Patrick McCormack mentions that Susan "was a smart school teacher,
with some personal wealth."  Susan may have been 10 years older than James, and had
inherited considerable land back in S.C. They had five children before her earlier death.
Hope this helps in someway. Feel free to contact me at windes5@aol.com if you'd like more
data. Happy searching!   George Windes - Brea, CA.
Additional email on same date:
Many of the Windes' ended up in Crawford County. If you come across the name in Jefferson,
St. Genevieve, Crawford, etc., I'd sure like to know. The name is sometimes spelled Winds,
Wines, Wynes, etc. Thanks in advance.

David Hanson
Dear Brian...so many of your people are interrelated with mine....the Boyer families... as
I am a descendant of Nicolas Boyer & Dorothee Olivier's 2nd son Jacques
Please tell me if you do any research work.
My grandfather Jules Boyer married Laura Mary Hanson, 1st dau. of Joseph B. Hanson
& Elizabeth Mary Govero.  Joseph was sent to Cadet to guard the Deck Bridge in the Civil
War - was 45 years of age, married Elizabeth.
Joseph's father was Daniel Hanson - married Barbara Brumbach.....
Daniel's father was David Hanson 1750-1800 Boutetourt, Va
I have a John Hanson - Jane Contee whose 2nd son was named David Hanson, but I can't
verify this David's birth date, wife or children.
I'll gladly pay you whatever your price if you could help me.
I have David Hanson's Will naming wife Ann ?, and children Sarah, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha,
Samuel & Daniel.  I just can't verify the John Hanson - Jane Contee 2nd son David being the
same as my David Hanson with the Will.
I have more information if you can research this...I have come to end of my abilities. You are
wonderful and thank you for all the information you have shared with so many of us.

Subject: boucher genealogie
Hi. Had a great time on your site. I think I've uncovered some mistakes from previous
searches of the "boucher family".  Jacques, Marin ,Pierre , Pierre, Pierre, Jean
Baptiste
. (He's very hard to nail down) and then I have his son, my great, great, great
grampa
listed as Augustin. After checking your site out I believe perhaps Augustin is
really Joseph Marie Boucher. because his son Pierre (I Have him listed as Edmond)
does end up with the right wife"Adelaide Roy " So I guess I still have my work cut out
for me.  Any hints for me? My father was Aurele Boucher his father was Georges
Boucher
of Corbeil, Ontario. Georgeswife was Mary (Marie) Lemieux married in
St Cyr, Ontario in 1905. Thanks a lot, Viviane Boucher
PS your picture number four looks a lot like a Boucher.
