OK Let's try to get this started here, my grandparents are Bud Galliano and Clementine
Galliano. My father is Donald Galliano, he married my mother Margaret Henning. They
had three children Bridget, Michelle and Donald Jr. My uncles are Farrell and Ronald
Galliano. My father is a twin with Ronald Galliano. I got married to Sara Boudreaux and we
have a son Donald Galliano III. My mother's family consists of her father Roland Henning,
mother Rita Henning, brothers Chris, Charles, Robert and sisters Rita, Chierle. I would
like to know, how did the town of Galliano receive it's name. I heard it was from one of our great
uncles that rushed a bunker in World War I, is that information correct?

Brian - WOW!!! What a warehouse of info! Beautiful structure which keeps growing (as
long as you work on it, I know!).
I am the son of Agnes Ruth Oster, daughter of Willis Oster (1920 MO Census - Perry Co.),
son of Peter and Martha (Bollinger) Oster (1870, 1880 Mo. Census - Bollinger Co.). Peter
was born in Bavaria Germany 15-Mar-1835. My information indicates Peter's parents as
Jacob and Otillia (Breckmann) Oster, who would probably have been born before 1820.
I am searching for our Oster family information prior to Peter and Martha's marriage (1862)
and our connections with any of the other Oster clans, especially Washington County, St.
Francois County, and the St. Louis area. Lots of questions come to mind: When did Peter
come to the USA? With whom? Did he come directly to Bollinger Country, MO? Maybe
some of our "cousins" have some answers!
I can also provide you info on some of the Willis Oster family, if desired.
With sincere appreciation for you hours of labor on the Oster, etc., families, Thanks. God's
continued blessings on your labors. Ken Hadler

My name is Rosanne Coulon Clare. I've been researching the Coulons and Rigauds from
Grand Isle for many years. Your website is wonderful, and I'm glad to see that it provides
online access to the work of your friend Mr. Looper, with whom I met once about ten years
ago. In fact, his correspondence with me got me started.
Your "About Me" section made me wonder if you ever met my father, Earl Chester Coulon.
He worked for the Jefferson Parish School District at their Gretna office for many years.
(He once taught Journalism at Northwestern in Natchitoches.)
You must be busy, but I wonder if any genealogist can pass up a challenging genealogical
"mystery". My cousin Dennis R. Coulon and I have been working on a confusing family
connection that I thought you might be able to help us with, if you have time. (Since I don't
live in N. O., it is hard for me to do direct research at courthouses, etc.) You seem to have
vast and pertinent resources.
We are descended from Pierre Coulon and Therese Rigaud, through their son Victor
who married Eliza Rigaud. There has been some confusion regarding one of their children
- Celine Coulon.
Eliza Rigaud's Succession records include as her heirs the children of the deceased
Celine and Julien Lefort, Alice and J. Noel Lefort.
All of the internet records we have found show this Celine who married Lefort and had Alice
and J. Noel, as the daughter of (Charles Nicholas) Victor Coulon and Marguerite____.
This being Victor Coulon the son of Nicholas, not Victor the son of Pierre.
I have spent many years trying to find a connection between the Coulon Freres of Lafourche
(Alexander JOSEPH Nicholas and Charles Nicholas VICTOR from Paris) and my Pierre
(a native of Marseille), with no success. Which family does this Celine belong to??? Victor
and Eliza or Victor and Marguerite?
Maybe you could point us in the right direction...

4) Frances (female) b-1839 5) Joseph b-1844 Ill. 6) Abner b-1847 Ill. (I believe they were
all born in Woodford Co., Ill.) Abner re-married an Eliza Jane Pratt and had several more
children in Woodford and McLean Co., Ill. I did notice there was a Reuben Hickman living
in Case or Casey Co., KY in the 1830 Census. Thanks for any assistance. Bob Decker

You have a fabulous web site and I am very, very impressed with your work. I also love
genealogy and was wondering if in your research you had ever seen the name "DeBenon".
My grandmother was a DeBenon who married my Grandfather, Jesse Ewing Hodges
in Houston, Harris Co., TX. Some of my work is at our web site,
www.hackley.com.
My grandmother's father was Charles DeBenon and he worked in the lumber industry,
moving frequently through East TX and LA cutting timber then moving to another forest.
Allegedly, he ran away from home, Spartenburg, SC at about the age of 12 to join the circus.
He later left the circus to live with a family near Port Boliver, TX. His father was believed to
have also been Charles DeBenon and was a physician who had been born in France. I have
had little to no luck in researching this DeBenon family name. The only DeBenon's that I
know of are my cousins who are now in the Phoenix area and So. California. Now there are
also two in Houston but they only recently moved here.
Would appreciate your thoughts or comments.

I am very grateful that you have put Crawford County Marriage Records on that county's
web site. They are a great help in my current project to complete Keysville Cemetery records.
The few on the web site are just that--a very few, and in at least one instance are incorrect.
The marriage records are a big help in identifying wives whose headstones list only their married
surname. But I'm really contacting you to correct one of the marriage records on your list.
My grandparents were Joseph O. Leaver of Cuba who married Clara C. Laudel of Moniteau
County. Your transcription of the records show Clara C. Landel, an easy error to make, given
handwriting. Clara C. Laudel was the daughter of Moritz Laudel and Emma Loesch, born
Cole County, Missouri. Actually, Joseph and Clara were first cousins, and marriage between
them was, I think, illegal in 1884, which may be why they got their license in Crawford County
and were married in Moniteau County. Again, many thanks for your fine Crawford County records.

PS: On my mother's side I am descended from the Keys of Keysville. Visited that village many
times as a child, though it is now nearly gone, except the cemetery, and some of the headstones
I first recorded about thirty years ago were gone when my husband and I read the cemetery in the
90's. A

county and the only John Holms that was listed was a minister. (MG) In the obituary
for Eliza Jane her father was mentioned as having been a minister. The reason why I
haven't been able to find John and Jane anywhere is probably because both died on the
Oregon trail in 1850. Included in the wagon train were William Paul, and an Elliott, and
of course a Fitzwater. In fact William Paul was acquainted with John Holms and
became the guardian of the three orphaned Holms children. I don't know what records

Subject: Great Web Site
I came upon your web site through google.com searching my grandfather Matthias Oster.
He came to Philadelphia in 1911 with Margaretha (Weissgerber) Oster, and had married
the month before in Csene Hungary. No doubt, we are not related . . . but I did want to
congratulate you on a wonderful site. Someday, I hope, when and if I ever get this much info
on the family, I too will have a web site. Can you give me any clues on researching Europe!?

Subject: ROUSSIN's
Hi, my name is Betty (Roussin) Brock: I'm a descendant of Jacques Roussin born 1685.
That's where our link stops and you go one way, and me another way. I was wondering if
you would have any information that just might be helpful to me. I have some information that
I have gotten off the Net, but otherwise, nothing that I can confirm. Looking forward to hearing
from you. Sincerely, Betty Brock

Subject: antoine duhe / duet
My mother remembers Antoine Duhe / Duet, an American serviceman, being billeted
to her mother's house in England in approx. 1944. He was from Louisiana, and may have
been an alligator hunter. She wonders if he survived D-day and the following fighting and
what happened to him after the war if he survived. Thanks. Jonathan Blood Smyth

Now I know who GG grandpaw Jean Baptiste's siblings were from your web site. Thank
you for putting out the information It's really wonderful. Brenda
OOPs I thought the siblings were Jean Baptiste's but I looked again. I was wrong. Anyway

Subject: Family Tree
Your pages are absolutely brilliant, but I am sad because I cannot find anything about my
grandfather Cecil Pullen born 1872 (twin) who may have been born in South Africa or UK
and he lived in Bulawayo and died in 1928. I feel he may have been present in the uprising
against white settlers in 1896/7. I am so unhappy I cannot make the link with other Pullen
family trees. Thank you for letting me look at your pages. Yvonne
